Political Reversals
Read this before listening: A note regarding reverse speech audio samples.
The next two reversals have to do with President Bush's self image. Here he explains that he does not use email. But why? His unconscious tells us he doesn't have to because "he is Yoda." Perhaps Mr. Bush is a Star Wars fan.
- Forward:

- Reverse:
- I am Yoda

Mr. Bush has stated publicly that he speaks to God and receives answers. Does he believe this? His speech reversals indicates that he does.
- Forward:
- Previous Presidents have used the same constitutional authority that I have.
- Reverse:
- Business of Savior

His public statements are optimistic but in reverse there is a pessimistic undercurrent.
- Forward:
- Americans are bound together by our shared ideals.
- Reverse:
- Saw another shroud but they deny it was their karma

- Forward:
- We've seen hard days and setbacks.
- Reverse:
- Sad lessons

- Forward:
- The goals for this country are peace in the world.
- Reverse:
- Sorrow in it

- Forward:
- West Point has given you the skills you will need in Afganistan and Iraq.
- Reverse:
- The sick wolf with evil went

This is a congruent statement referring to Tony Blair and the recovery in Iraq.
- Forward:
- He talked about the reconstruction efforts that are beginning to take hold.
- Reverse:
- Yes, we need the British

- Forward:
- This recovery will take years.
- Reverse:
- Yes, but we're workers

These statements are somewhat less congruent.
- Forward:
- Trust the American people when it comes to making rational healthcare decisions for them and their families.
- Reverse:
- If you overpass the Senate

- Forward:
- Proud of the Mexican people for conducting an election that is open and honest.
- Reverse:
- Sit on it

The President speaks about his new tax program.
- Forward:
- We doubled the child tax credit.
- Reverse:
- It'll bite you

- Forward:
- And the economic growth by tax cuts has helped reduce the deficit.
- Reverse:
- It's a fad

- Forward:
- We cut taxes on small business.
- Reverse:
- Sends a bomb

Is Newt Gingrich really afraid we are headed towards World War Three? Based on this conversation with Matt Lauer, it would seem so.
- Forward:
- I believe if you take all of the countries I just listed, that you've been covering, put'em on a map, look at all the different connectivity, you'd have to say to yourself, "This is in fact World War Three."
- Reverse:

One of the allegations concerning Congressman Tom Delay revolved around his accepting favors from gambling interests. Here, during his farewell address, he unconsciously confirms the change.

- Reverse:

Ross Perot discussing the two party system. This reversal reveals the flaw as he sees it.
- Forward:
- The two political parties, Democrat and Republicans are bought and paid for.

Hillary Clinton when talking about the need for new leadership, her reversal offers a solution.
- Forward:

- Reverse:

Could this be her "note to self" on the expense of peace negotiations?

- Reverse:

George Bush, Sr. Waffles for everyone!
- Forward:
- Is this taking different positions on different issues, trying to be one thing to one person who is opposing the NAFTA agreement and then for it, what we call waffling.
- Reverse:

In this example, his sentiment forward is congruent with his reversal.

Shows abundant self confidence

Is perhaps suspicious of the average man?

George W. Bush speaking on the "War of Terror" expresses his resolve, while possibly revealing some uncertainty in reverse.

A news commentator relates the facts forward and his opinion in reverse.

Jimmy Carter makes an obscure reference in reverse to an unknown person during his "Crises of Confidence" speech.
